A 2-day seminar on the Aqidah al-Tahawiyya taught by the translator, Hamzah Maqbul. Over the past 5 years, this course has been conducted dozens of times across more than ten countries, in North America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia, and has helped thousands of Muslims to better understand the core beliefs of this religion.

MATTERS OF THE HEART

A seminar on selections from the Riyad al-Salihin of Imam al-Nawawi, taught by Hamzah Maqbul. One of the best-known and best-loved of all collections of Hadith, al-Nawawi’s Riyad al-Salihin contains transformative knowledge, with potential to help us to reform ourselves, and thus reform our communities, societies, and the world at large. Shaykh Hamzah Maqbul has read and taught this text with students around the world.

GLIMPSES OF THE MESSENGER ﷺ

A seminar on al-Shamail al-Muhammadiyya of Imam al-Tirmidhi taught by Hamzah Maqbul or Sjaad Hussein. This course is an intensive study of the qualities of the Messenger ﷺ , which both helps us to know and love the one who Allah called His Beloved ﷺ, and also allows us to better understand the message that he ﷺ conveyed to mankind.

ENDLESS BANQUET

Thematic overview Qur’anic selections taught by the author of The Endless Banquet, Hamzah Abdul Malik. This course is designed to help attendees develop a deeper appreciation for the Qur’an, and an increased sense of wonder and awe at the Allah’s Book. Attendees will be inspired to ask new questions about Allah’s word, and develop a stronger personal relationship with the Qur’an, if Allah wills.

BLACKNESS & ISLAM

A seminar with the author of Blackness & Islam, Dawud Walid. This class will present biographies of early Muslims who were Black, and will clarify some traditions which are often misuderstood in terms of race. The biographies of great Muslim personalities shows us how Blackness was a normal part of life for early Muslims, and proper understanding of Muslim tradition shows us that racist attitudes have no basis whatsoever in religion, and that indeed the opposite is true.

SACRED ACTIVISM

A seminar with the author of Towards Sacred Activism, Dawud Walid. This course is an attempt to provide concise, general guidance to Muslims in the West regarding engagement in social justice activism from an Islamic perspective. The course does not profess to provide the sole solution to such issues, but merely attempts to present some general parameters and reminders based upon fundamental aspects of Islam drawn from our rich tradition, to focus on building and supporting life for all of Allah’s creation in the best way.

DIRECTED BY PURPOSE

A seminar on Imam al-Ghazali’s Ayyuhal Walad taught by Hamzah Maqbul. This course is based on the short epistle of Imam Ghazali, which addresses a question posed by a student: What will benefit us in the grave? Al-Ghazali wrote Ayyuhal Walad to address this question. This course addresses points of faith, knowledge and action, drawing from the immense wisdom of the author to provide practical advice for everyday life.
